Osteopathy explained

Hands-on care for the way you move

Osteopathy is a hands-on approach to muscles, joints and movement. Rather than focusing only on the painful spot, an osteopath looks at how the whole body is working together — and where something else might be contributing.

What osteopaths commonly help with

  • Back & neck pain
  • Sciatica
  • Headaches & migraines
  • Sports injuries
  • Arthritis & joint pain
  • Pregnancy-related discomfort
  • Repetitive strain injuries
  • General stiffness & tension

If osteopathy isn't the right fit for what you're experiencing, we'll tell you and help you work out where to go next.

What to expect

Your appointment, step by step

01

We talk

You tell us what's been happening, how long for, and what it stops you doing. We'll ask about your health history and day-to-day life.

02

We assess

We look at how you stand, bend and move, and examine the areas involved — explaining what we're checking as we go.

03

We explain

You'll hear what we've found in plain language, along with what we think would help and roughly how long it might take.

04

We treat

Hands-on treatment can include gentle movement, stretching, massage and manipulation, always at a pace you're comfortable with.
