What happens during my first appointment?

We start by talking. You'll tell us what's been going on, how it affects your day and what you'd like to get back to. We'll then look at how you move, explain what we're finding in plain language, and agree an approach together before any treatment takes place.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing you can move in is perfect. We may ask to see the area we're treating, so loose shorts or a vest top can be helpful. You're always welcome to bring someone with you.

How long does an appointment take?

A Discovery Session lasts 1 hour 30 minutes so there's plenty of time to talk and be assessed without rushing. Follow-up appointments are shorter, and the Body MOT is a 60-minute session.

Question 4

Is osteopathy suitable for me?

Osteopathy is used by people of many ages and activity levels. If we don't think it's the right fit for you, we'll say so and suggest where else to look — including referring you back to your GP where appropriate.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Any relevant scan results, letters or a list of medication you take. If you're being treated by another healthcare professional for the same issue, it's useful to know.
